Kazan Smart City can use public-private partnership in infrastructure development

Currently, in terms of the International Investment Technopolis studies several options for implementing of infrastructure of «smart» cities.

Building infrastructure using public-private partnership (PPP) is examined in conjunction with the «VIS» Group of Сonstruction Сompanies and «RISE Capital» fund. Infrastructure development of Kazan Smart City discussed recently at a meeting of Tatarstan Investment Development Agency and Tatarstan Development Corporation leadership with the «VIS» Board of Directors Deputy Chairman Rashid Aytuganov and Managing partners of «RISE Capital» Alexander Dimov and Dmitry Chikishev. 

«VIS» and «RISE Capital» fund ready to invest about 5 billion rubles in the development of Kazan Smart City infrastructure. During the meeting, Tatarstan Investment Development Agency Chief Executive and Tatarstan Development Corporation Deputy CEO Jawdat Akhmanov discussed with representatives of «VIS» and «RISE Capital» infrastructure of technopolis and opportunities to work together. Following the discussions, the sides agreed that «VIS» and «RISE Capital» will prepare options for implementation of «smart» city infrastructure on the terms of PPP.

About «VIS» Group of Construction Companies: «VIS» Group of Construction Companies includes 10 construction and engineering companies, which in 2000 worked on the construction and reconstruction of large industrial, oil and energy companies, traffic systems, and socio-cultural, sports and commercial facilities in Russia and abroad. Regional offices are located in four regions. The main customers of «VIS» are «Gazprom», the big energy companies, the administration of the Russian Federation and municipalities.

Currently «VIS» is building 35 facilities in several regions of Russia, the current contracts portfolio value is 147.29 billion rubles.
