Tatarstan Investment Development Agency (TIDA) and Tatarstan Development Corporation (TDC) took part in a meeting of the club, which was held in Moscow Representation of Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO).
The event was attended by about 20 representatives of Japanese companies interested in cooperation with the Republic of Tatarstan.
Invitation to participate in the meeting of the Japanese business club was announced during a visit to the region of a Director of the Nomura Research Institute (NRI) Moscow branch Iwao Ohashi. In September Mr. Ohashi accompanied delegation of Japanese companies in visiting Tatarstan.
During the meeting in Tatarstan Investment Development Agency Iwao Ohashi invited TIDA Chief Executive Linar Yakupov and TDC CEO Bulat Gayanov to present in Japanese business Club. Mr. Ohashi underscored that business club members need to know about Tatarstan’s interesting and unique project - Kazan Smart City. He also noted that the project can use Japanese technologies. the event was presented the investment potential of the region and discussed the possibilities of cooperation in terms of Kazan Smart City. TIDA Head of Investment Promotion Wyatt Ford told that during the “Invest in Tatarstan” forum, which will be held in March next year, will be held the groundbreaking ceremony to the construction of hotel and office center in Kazan Smart City territory.
About Japanese Business Club Japanese Business Club was founded in Moscow in order to improve the business and investment climate between Japan and Russia. Among Business Club members are Japanese companies with a permanent representative or a Russian legal entity, as well as foreign companies that support the objectives of the Business Club. Embassy of Japan in Russia is an Honorary Member of the Business Club. Chairman of the club is the head of the «Mitsubishi Electric» company Uemura Noritsugu.
