Today in the «Eurasian Economic Integration: Achievements and Challenges» forum, held in Kazan on November 28-29, Kazan Smart City was presented.
Event, being initiated by the Eurasian dialogue was held under the patronage of the Federal Agency «Rossotrudnichestvo» and the Government of the Republic of Tatarstan. During the two-day forum held two plenary sessions, discussions and video conferences with Moscow, St. Petersburg, Kiev, Minsk, Yerevan, Astana, Beijing and Brussels.
The forum was attended by the Head of the Federal Agency «Rossotrudnichestvo» Konstantin Kosachev, head of the «Eurasian dialogue» Andrei Klimov, Chairman of the State Council of Tatarstan Farid Mukhametshin, representatives of legislative and executive authorities of different countries, business circles of Russia, Belarus and Kazakhstan, businessmen, scientists, experts from the CIS countries and the European Union.
Today the forum was attended by Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov and Chairman of the State Duma of the Russian Federation Sergey Naryshkin. Before the beginning of the forum guests toured the highest priority projects of the republic. Tatarstan Investment Development Agency Chief Executive Linar Yakupov presented a new investment project in the Republic of Tatarstan Kazan Smart City, noting cluster development of the site, stages of implementation and work with investors. Linar Yakupov also introduced one
of the Malaysian investors who participate in the implementation of the project.
Guests also acquainted with «Innopolis» project, which was presented by Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Tatarstan, Minister of Information and Communication Roman Shaikhutdinov. Sviyazhsk multimodal logistics center and an international transport corridor «Europe – Western China» were presented by Tatarstan Minister of Transport and Road Lenar Safin.
At the plenary meetings, held on November 28-29, in the format of a video conference participated Chairman of the Federation Council Valentina Matvienko, Deputy Chairman of the Federation Council Ilyas Umakhanov, Aide to the President of Russian Federation Sergey Glazyev and others.
The forum totally was attended by over 1500 people from 18 countries. At the forum were proposed to hold Eurasian Economic Forum on a regular basis in Kazan city.
About the «Eurasian dialogue» The purpose of the «Eurasian dialogue» - is providing opportunities to discuss problematic issues of creating a Eurasian Union on a territory that includes the countries of Europe and Asia. Originally Union includes three countries – Russia, Belarus and Kazakhstan. In a «Eurasian Economic Integration: Achievements and Challenges» forum Minister of Education and Science Armen Ashotyan announced the readiness of Armenia to join the Eurasian Economic Union.
